PROGRAM BREAKDOWN
Each mentor session is held virtually and relies on screen sharing for teaching demonstrations. Sessions vary from 1-2+ hours each and are scheduled at your preferred pace. WHAT TO EXPECT
Session Topics
Session 1: Introduction to DaVinci Resolve
An introduction to the basics and features of DaVinci Resolve. This session is a crash course in everything you need to know to create, edit, and export a project. Have experience in the program already? Great, we will meet you where you are.
Session 2: Color Grading Tools & Approach
A deep dive into the color tools within DaVinci Resolve. You will learn how to utilize each tool and how to rely on the fundamentals of color science to manipulate your footage.
Session 3: Developing Your Signature Look
With an understanding of the look you aspire to achieve in your films, we will color correct and grade your footage together. The session culminates in the creation of your own PowerGrade - similar to a LUT, but with more flexibility - that you can use in your films moving forward.
Session 4: Grading Your Work *optional
With working knowledge of color fundamentals, DaVinci Resolve’s tools, and your new PowerGrade, this session involves color correcting and grading your footage in the context of a film. Let’s match your different camera bodies and drone footage for a cohesive, consistent look

Why DaVinci Resolve?
DaVinci Resolve is the most robust professional color grading software available, and when used to its fullest potential, has the ability to dramatically transform your footage with greater precision than any other program.
What is the format of the program?
This is a 4-part series of 1-1 mentorship sessions, held virtually. Each session varies between 1-2+ hours and may be scheduled at your own pace, though we recommend once per week for 4 weeks.
Do I need prior experience in DaVinci Resolve?
None needed! If you have yet to use DaVinci Resolve, the first session is designed to familiarize you with the software, from project creation to export, before the remaining sessions explore the color tools.
Will I need to fully transition to DaVinci Resolve?
That is up to you! After we made the switch, we never looked back. You are welcome to utilize DaVinci Resolve exclusively for color grading moving forward or migrate your entire post-production workflow.
May I take the program with a team member?
This is a highly personalized series of sessions, which is why it was created to be 1-1. However, we understand that it’s helpful for teams to learn skills together, so we allow additional seats to be purchased at a reduced rate for members of the same company to take together.
Can you teach me to create any type of look?
Absolutely! The goal of this course is to equip you with the knowledge and tools to achieve a cohesive look throughout your film that is true to your brand. In fact, many of our students come to us with mood boards and the desire to achieve a color match. Let’s work together to develop your signature look!
